History / How To / Grant Forms

The Newport-Mesa Schools Foundation was established twenty years ago to raise funds to augment needed instructional programs in the District's public schools. It has provided supplemental funding for Drug and Alcohol Abuse prevention programs, district-wide reading program materials, specialized high interest science programs and other identified curriculum and classroom needs.

Upon learning that many teachers spend hundreds of dollars of their own monies each year to purchase supplies and materials to initiate creative and innovative programs that stimulate children to learn, the Grants to Teachers Program was established. The Grants Program is available to all certified staff throughout the entire school district (Costa Mesa, Newport Beach) and encourages educators who have unique ideas to apply for funding. Confirming these special educators with grant awards fulfills the Foundation's Mission of supporting "Excellence in Education".
